We are pleased to see the successful completion of the first join AI4COPSEC & THEIA workshop, bringing together experts, researchers, policymakers, and operational stakeholders to discuss the future of AI-powered maritime safety and crisis response.
The workshop, “Next-Generation Solutions for Maritime Safety and Crisis Response”, highlighted how AI/ML, GeoAI, Earth Observation, and data fusion technologies can support real operational challenges, including search & rescue, migration monitoring, maritime surveillance, environmental incident response, and informed crisis management.
THEIA EU Project was proud to contribute to this collaborative initiative and exchange perspectives with participants representing organisations such as Frontex, European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA), SatCen, EASA – European Union Aviation Safety Agency, Centre National d’Études Spatiales, and many others.
Interactive discussions and live polls also revealed strong interest in interoperability, border security, AI-enabled EO services, and next-generation decision-support capabilities.
A big thank you to AI4COPSEC, all speakers, participants, and contributors for making this first workshop a success. We look forward to continuing this collaboration and engaging with the community through future workshops and demonstrations.
